WHAT IS FELLOWSHIP SUNDAY?

Solomon tells us “€œTwo are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.”€ Fellowship is vital to the health of the church and its members. The second Sunday of each month we set aside 20-30 minutes between Sunday School and Worship for a time of fellowship with each other. We meet in the fellowship hall at 10:40 for a time of food and time to get to know one another better.

Fellowship Sunday also has the other purpose of reaching out to those around us. Many people feel like they can’t go to church because they don’€™t have “€œChurch Clothes”. At Mt. Hope we don’€™t have a dress code, and so to emphasize this on fellowship Sunday we encourage everyone to dress comfortably (no ties, suits or dress). We understand that some may feel uncomfortable if they are not wearing a suit to church; we also understand that some may feel uncomfortable if they are wearing suits.  At Mt. Hope we want you to be comfortable in God’€™s house.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF MOUNT HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH?

Church membership is an important way of being connected to the family of God through a specific fellowship of believers. There are different ways to join Mount Hope as follows:
1. Transfer of membership from another church.
2. Profession of faith in Christ in the past, joining church.
3. Pray to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, be baptized by believer’€™s baptism, and become a member.

At the conclusion of the service when the pastor extends an invitation to make commitments, if you feel that God is leading you to become part of the fellowship of Mount Hope come forward and express your intention to join the church.
